S., which is annexed to a petition filed with the City of Martinsville on the l.j.th day of May, 1959. At the expiration of five (5) days from the date hereof application will be made at the rext meeting of Counc iI, to be hald at the Municipal Building in the City of Martinsville, to have viewers appointed and to take all such action as may be necessary and proper to the discontinuance, vacation and closing of such street. Ramsey, respectfully represents unto the Council he is the ~mer of certain property fronting upon Jefferson Street in said City and that a street shown upon a certain map of said property, bearing date of Mqr 9, 1938, prepared by Thomas S. Moore, C. L. S., recorded in the Clerk's office of the Circuit COllr't of Henry County, Virginia in Map Book 1, Page 200, said map is annexed to this petition marked Exhibit A ani l1E.de a part hereof, which street is known and desig- nated thereon as Zee Street, a certain portion of which has been opened and a certain portion which connects the east and west segments of Jefferson Street remains unopened, that portion remaining unopened being the subject matter of this petition. Your petitioner represents to Council that the unopened portion of Zee Street does not serve any useful purpose and could not so serve, that the opening of the same would cause a traffic hazard on both the east and west outlet to Jefferson street, that said portion of Zee Street as dedicated on the aforesaid map is 30 feet in width, which is contrary to the subdivision Ordinance of the City of Martirnville adopted on December l7, 1957, that your petitioner owns the majority of the land abutting on said street, that your petitioner would be materially benefitted by such closing and vacation. Your petitioner further respectfully represents that a petition has been circulated among the adjoining landovmers in this area and the over- whelming majority of the same are of the opinion that said street should be closed and vacated, a copy of said petition is annexed hereto marked }':Xhibit B.
