IN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE AIXlP'l'ED BY MARTINSVILLE CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 'ZI, 951, AND AS AMENDED, PRESCRIBING RULES AND JlEX)ULATIONS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE ELECTRIC UTILITY SYSTEM BE IT ORDAIl~D by the Council of the City of l~rtinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled the 23rd day of Msrch, 1965, that paragraph (d) of Section 5 of an ordinance entitled HAn Ordinance Prescribing Rules and Regulations for the Operation of the Electric Utility System, Hereinafter for purposes of Brevity Referred to as the Department or the Department of Electricity, of the City of Martinsville and for the Penalties for the Violation Thereofll be and is hereby amended to include the following electric tariff: CITY OF MARTINSVILLE VIRGINIA -- De rtment of Electricit TARIFF A. E. H. (All-Electric Homes) Effective May 1, 1965 Availability of Service Available on an optional basis for year-round domestic service through one meter to individual residential customers whose principal energy requirements for lighting, the operation of all major appliances including air conditioning equipment, water heating, and heating of all dwelling space in the home are fUrnished by electric service delivered by the City. Water Heater Service lnaSIIIUch as the customar has installed and in regular use an electric water heater or heaters meeting the specifications set forth below, the 400 kwhrs. of use _ ,llowing the first 200 kvhrs. used in any JIlOnth shall be billed at the rsto of 1~ .r kvhr. The standard approved type of electric water heater shall consist of a permanently installed tank of not l.ss than 30 gallons capecity meeting the requirements (except as to el....nt sizes) of "Hous.hold Automatic Electric storage-type llater H.aters" .pproved by American standards Assoniation (ASA) as in effect at tha time of installation. The heat.r shall be equipped with thermostatically-controlled heating olamants totaling at least 1,000 watts. No single el.ment shall exc.ed 4500 watts. If the total of elements exceeds 4500 watts, the elements must he interlocked so that only one may operate at one time. There shall be installed, in connection with each heater, terperature and pressure protection equipment as may he speoified by any governmentel inapection service having .-.4urisdiction.
