<br />J48 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />DECEMBER 22, 1964 <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of inspection reports--prepared by the Virginia <br /> <br />Department of Welfare & Institutions--on the City's Prison Farm Jail and the <br /> <br />City's "lock-upfl or detention facilities. Council noted with appreciation <br /> <br />the fine report on the Prison Farm Jail ard commended Prison Farm Superintendent <br /> <br />Robert King therefor. <br /> <br />With reference to certain suggestions heretofore informally presented, Council <br /> <br />indicated that it will require the payment of personal property taxes--for the <br /> <br />three years immediately preceding the annual date motor vehicle license tags <br /> <br />must be purchased--by the owners of vehicles for which license tags are to be <br /> <br />purchased and, further, instructed City Attorney Cubine to prepare a draft of a <br /> <br />proposed ordinance to this end for Council's consideration. <br /> <br />Dr. Charles J. Mathes, Director of the local Health Department, informed Council <br /> <br />that the new health center will probably be ready for occupancy by February 1, <br /> <br />1965 . <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />~5)+, ~~.~ . <br />W.
