Muse appeared before Council and--in support of a request filed

by the Albert Harris Parent-Teacher Association with Council on October 23,

1963--presented a combination of written and signed petitions requesting the

construction by the City of curb-and-gutter (on a shared-cost basis) along

Third Street from Fayette street to F Street, to promote safety in the interest

of small children attending the West End Elementary School. Council indicated

that it would give this reque'3t every consideration in preparation of the City's

1964-65 curb-and-gutter work program.

Mr. D. B. McCullough, residing at 712 parkview Avenue, called Council's attention

to conditions prevailing in the Parkview Avenue area, particularly on Saturday

nights. Mr. McCullough described these conditions--consisting of noise and speed of

--

automobiles as well as boisterousness of occupants--as constituting a nuisance

and disturbance to the residents of the area. Council indicated that some

surveillance by the Police Department would curtail these practices.

Council was adjourned.

W.

n, Clerk of Council
