<br />2~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FE!3RU ARY 11. 1 964 <br /> <br />---- <br /> <br />Upo~ oeing informed that the Henry County Sheriff's offi8e--with the approval of <br /> <br />the Henry County Board of Supervisors--has requested a proposed radio interchange <br /> <br />arrangement with the City's Police Department, with the installation of certain <br /> <br />additional equipment at no cost to the City, and upon being informed :.hat such an <br /> <br />arrangement 'tlould be advantageous to both the City's Police Department 'wd the <br /> <br />Henry County Sheriff's office, Council gave its approval of the arrangement, <br /> <br />,-- <br /> <br />subject to the working out of details involved between the two law enforcement <br /> <br />agen8ies. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst presented the annual report of the City's Fire Department for <br /> <br />the year 1963, indicating that the Department's program on fire prevention has <br /> <br />resulted in substantial de8reases in residential property fire losses for the last <br /> <br />several years. <br /> <br />A member of the Martinsville High School Government Class suggested that vehicular <br /> <br />parki~g be prohibited along the south side of Mulberry Road from Rives Road to <br /> <br />Spruce Street in order to elimi~ate accident hazards as well as to expedite the <br /> <br />flow of traffic along this street. <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />2. t)"",t.~ ~',. <br />-W.
