<br />,(~ ~...' <br />~, "-) <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />DECEMBER 1 o. 1968 <br /> <br />erred in establishing assessed valuations of such properties, resulting <br /> <br />in excess property taxes paid for 1968 to the various political subdivisions. <br /> <br />In lieu of its regular meeting scheduled for December 24, 1968 (Christmas <br /> <br />Eve), Council established the date of Monday, December 30, 1968, at which <br /> <br />time a joint public hearing will be conducted by Council and the Planning <br /> <br />Commission on Martinsville General Hospital's application for a "special- <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />use" permit, as filed November 26, 1968. <br /> <br />Council noted the forthcoming December 17th meeting of various municipal <br /> <br />and county officials with the State's Division of Planning & Community <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Affairs, at the John Marshall Hotel, Richmond, Virginia, indicating that <br /> <br />several members of Council, along with other City representatives, will <br /> <br />attend this meeting. <br /> <br />Upon being informed that Mr. Douglas Wood was attending his last Council <br /> <br />meeting in his capacity as reporter-newscaster for Radio Station WMVA and <br /> <br />would soon become associated with a local industry, Council expressed its <br /> <br />pleasure in having had Mr. Wood attend Council meetings in this capacity <br /> <br />over the past six years and, also, expressed its best wishes to Mr. Wood <br /> <br />in his new employment. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br />
