T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, <br /> <br />October 22, 1968, in the Co~ncil Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., <br /> <br />all members being present, viz., Dr. F. T. Renick, Mayor; Francis T. West, <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor; Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford, and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held October 8, 1968. <br /> <br />Through Mr. Robert E. Saville, as Agent, (who is Secretary-Treasurer of <br /> <br />Burch-Hodges-Stone, Inc.), the owners of property located at 600 Starling <br /> <br />Avenue, and further identified as the "Easley" property, requested the <br /> <br />rezoning from "R-6" to "C-2" of this property to permit the conduct of a <br /> <br />commercial "drive-in" type of business. Council referred this request to <br /> <br />the Planning Commission for its consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br />Through Mr. William F. Stone, Attorney at Law and Counsel for Mr. Roy C. <br /> <br />Stone, Co~ncil received a petition--on behalf of Mr. Roy C. Stone--requesting <br /> <br />the amending of the City1s Zoning Code and/or the rezoning of property in <br /> <br />the vicinity of the Golf Driving Range (off the east side of Memorial <br /> <br />Boulevard South) so as to permit the construction and operation of a <br /> <br />drive-in theater. COUIIcil referred this petition to the Planning Commission <br /> <br />for its consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />In a preliminary report on current voter registration totals by precincts, <br /> <br />in the City, the Martinsville Electoral Board informed Council that the <br /> <br />number of registered voters in each of four (of the Cityls eight) precincts <br /> <br />now exceed the statutory limitation, thus necessitating the immediate delivery <br />
