After some discussion, Council agreed to continue the Merchants' <br /> <br />protest for further consideration. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council directed that a <br /> <br />duly-advertised public hearing be conducted, jointly with the Planning <br /> <br />Commission, at Council's February 13th (1968) meeting on a petition--initiated <br /> <br />by the City--requesting a !lspecial use" permit under Section VIII, Subsection <br /> <br />C, Paragraph 5, of the City's Zoning Ordinance, to allow construction of a <br /> <br />municipal water storage tank in the vicinity of New York Avenue. <br /> <br />After an explanation of the forthcoming meeting in Richmond, Virginia, scheduled <br /> <br />for January 11th, concerning municipal legislative interests and matters, Council <br /> <br />requested City Manager Noland to attempt to arrange his schedule that he might <br /> <br />attend this meeting or conference; meanwhile, there was no decision as to <br /> <br />whether the City might be represented at the Educational Conference scheduled <br /> <br />for January 21st-22nd in Richmond, Virginia, except it was understood that--if <br /> <br />convenient--the City should probably be represented. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />II.
