<br />18 <br /> <br />JUNE 1 3. 1 967 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />Fayette Street to "M-2 Industrial" and that it now recommends that the petition <br /> <br />be granted by the effecting of said requested rezoning. Council unanimously <br /> <br />accepted the Planning Commission's re comme,'1dation, subj ect to a duly-advertised <br /> <br />public hearing to be conducted by Council thereon at its forthcoming July 11th <br /> <br />meeting. <br /> <br />,.- <br /> <br />Pursuant to invitation from Council, Mr. Fred C. Forberg, Director of Mapping <br /> <br />and Reappraisals for the State Department of Taxation, appeared before Council <br /> <br />and presented a swnmary of statutory methods relating to appraising and assessing <br /> <br />taxable real estate by localities as well as his opinion as to the merits of <br /> <br />these various methods. Council continued this matter for study. <br /> <br />Pursuant to reference in these minutes pertaining to the 1967-68 budget, as <br /> <br />adopted, and specifically to the revising of the City's utility tax ordinance, <br /> <br />Council placed on first reading a proposed revision of said ordinance whereby <br /> <br />electric service customers within the City, now being supplied electric service <br /> <br />by sources other than by the City, \.Jill be taxed irl the same manner as are the <br /> <br />City's electric customers. <br /> <br />Contemplated in the revised and adopted 1967-68 City budget was the recommended <br /> <br /> <br />change in the City's subdivision ordinance whereby costs now being borne by the <br /> <br /> <br />City for street paving and for sewer lines in new subdivisions will be shifted <br /> <br />to the developer(s). Council referred these recommended changes to the <br /> <br />Planning Commission for its consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br />Council unanimously reappointes Messrs. Charles C. Broun and William W. Edwards, <br /> <br />Jr., to new three-year terms on the City School Board, beginning July 1, 1967. <br />
