18 JUNE 1 3. 1 967 TUESDAY Fayette Street to "M-2 Industrial" and that it now recommends that the petition be granted by the effecting of said requested rezoning. Council unanimously accepted the Planning Commission's re comme,'1dation, subj ect to a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted by Council thereon at its forthcoming July 11th meeting. ,.- Pursuant to invitation from Council, Mr. Fred C. Forberg, Director of Mapping and Reappraisals for the State Department of Taxation, appeared before Council and presented a swnmary of statutory methods relating to appraising and assessing taxable real estate by localities as well as his opinion as to the merits of these various methods. Council continued this matter for study. Pursuant to reference in these minutes pertaining to the 1967-68 budget, as adopted, and specifically to the revising of the City's utility tax ordinance, Council placed on first reading a proposed revision of said ordinance whereby electric service customers within the City, now being supplied electric service by sources other than by the City, \.Jill be taxed irl the same manner as are the City's electric customers. Contemplated in the revised and adopted 1967-68 City budget was the recommended change in the City's subdivision ordinance whereby costs now being borne by the City for street paving and for sewer lines in new subdivisions will be shifted to the developer(s). Council referred these recommended changes to the Planning Commission for its consideration and recommendation. Council unanimously reappointes Messrs. Charles C. Broun and William W. Edwards, Jr., to new three-year terms on the City School Board, beginning July 1, 1967.
