Dodd Bryant, of Bryantls Sports Center, appeared before Council and <br /> <br />requested that regulations governing the horsepower limitations on outboard <br /> <br />gasoline motors permitted at the City's water impounding reservoir be <br /> <br />increased to at least 3.9 horsepower and even perhaps to 5 horsepower, <br /> <br />stating that such increase would not jeopardize the purposes for which <br /> <br />the reservoir was constructed nor endanger persons or property. After <br /> <br />some discussion, Council asked Public Works Director George W. Brown to <br /> <br />re-activate the committee, of which both Mr. Bryant and Mr. Brown were <br /> <br />members, which originally prepared the reservoir regulations now in effect. <br /> <br />Mr. Tony Joe Nicholas, of Route 2, Boones Mill, Virginia, appeared before <br /> <br />Council and requested a "special-use" permit to allow him to operate a <br /> <br />I1fortune-telling" business at 827 North Memorial Boulevard, presently <br /> <br />zoned I1C-311. Council referred this petition to the Planning Commssion for <br /> <br />its consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br />Upon inquiry of Councilman Stone, Councilman Burch outlined procedures <br /> <br />now in process, by which all local qualified voters will be notified of <br /> <br />recently-revised voting precincts and polling places. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br />
