<br />,e <br />lU <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 23, 1972 <br /> <br />and member of the Planning Commission, speaking as but one member of the <br /> <br />Commission and as an interested citizen, after outlining the sequence of <br /> <br />events and procedures as to these proposed amendments, cited the need <br /> <br />for making more current the Zoning Ordinance in this specific area and <br /> <br />urged that said public hearings proceed as advertised. Whereupon Council <br /> <br />indicated its intention that the public hearings will proceed as scheduled. <br /> <br />Council placed on file, for review and consideration for the 1972-73 <br /> <br />construction program, a petition requesting curb-and-gutter along that <br /> <br />section of Barrows Mill Road between Wood and Greyson Streets. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland formally and officially presented his recommended City <br /> <br />Budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1972, accompanied by his <br /> <br />Budget Message, representing total expenditures and estimated income of <br /> <br />$11,271,740.04, which Council received for study. <br /> <br />By petition dated May 19, 1972, Mr. Taswell C. Thurman, of 1004 Adell Street, <br /> <br />and other interested citizens of the area, solicited Council's assistance <br /> <br />toward eliminating and/or improving certain drainage and refuse conditions <br /> <br />existing between Adell Street and the rear of commercial properties fronting <br /> <br />the east side of Memorial Boulevard. Council referred this matter to <br /> <br />City Manager Noland for investigation and for such correcting action as may <br /> <br />be permitted. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of several letters advocating prohibition of <br /> <br />dogs "running at large". <br />
