Starkey, of Southwestern

Virginia Gas Company, informing Council of immediate purchased gas

adjustment changes, i.e., increase in cost of purchased gas to the gas

company, which will be passed along direct to the company's customers.

Council directed that the following curb-and-gutter petitions be placed

on file for Council's review of such projects for the forthcoming fiscal

year:

(a) liE" Street, between Third and Fourth Streets; and
(b) IIDII Street, between Third and Fourth Streets.

Mr. W. B. Muse appeared before Council and inquired as to the appropriateness

and propriety of citizens making pertinent inquiries during Council meetings

when, for example, such matters as proposed School budgets are presented and

discussed.

Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council convened into an

Executive Session, at the request of City Manager Noland, to consider some

developments with regard to the local bus system's continued operation and with

regard to a personnel matter. After this session, Council reconvened to

regular meeting and announced through Mayor Renick that these matters have

been discussed but require no official action at this time.

Council was adjourned.

W.
