<br />3:31 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 11, 1972 <br /> <br />Councilman Hartford, in commending citizens and various local agencies for <br /> <br />their efforts and interest toward beautifying the City and private premises, <br /> <br />called Council's attention to the need for implementing these efforts through <br /> <br />enforcing applicable statutes where necessary to compel compliance therewith, <br /> <br />and where persuasion and voluntary compliance fail. <br /> <br />A representative of the Clearview Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association <br /> <br />expressed appreciation to the City for assigning--beginning with April 10, <br /> <br />1972--a Patrolmother to the area, pursuant to request filed with Council on <br /> <br />September 21, 1971. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the <br /> <br />following ordinance establishing an Industrial Development Authority for the <br /> <br />City of Martinsville, with the members of the required seven-member Board of <br /> <br />Directors yet to be appointed: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this eleventh day of April, 1972, that: <br /> <br />1. There is hereby created a political subdivision of the Common- <br />wealth of Virginia, with such public and corporate powers as are <br />set forth in the Industrial Development and Revenue Bond Act, <br />consisting Chapter 33 of Title 15.1 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA, <br />(1950, and as amended): <br />2. The name of the political subdivision hereby created shall be the <br />Industrial Development Authority of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia; and <br />3.
