<br />)nq <br />.::.' -.. .-J <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 25, 1971 <br /> <br />After receiving City Manager Noland's proposed City Budget for the fiscal <br /> <br />year ending June 30, 1972, accompanied by his Budget Message, Council <br /> <br />called for a duly-advertised public hearing thereon (in the total amount <br /> <br />of $10,764,690.01) to be conducted at Council's forthcoming June 8th <br /> <br />meeting. Meanwhile, members of Council requested of City Manager Noland <br /> <br />certain comparative and statistical information on several phases of the <br /> <br />proposed budget, as a supplement to the Budget Message. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland and Public Works Director George W. Brown called Councills <br /> <br />attention to the mounting cost of refuse collection and disposal, analyzing <br /> <br />present methods and services and citing the possibility of revising these <br /> <br />methods and services in an effort to reduce the City's cost therefor, such <br /> <br />as changing to curb-pickup and requiring the use of plastic bags. Council <br /> <br />suggested that these possibilities be explored further. <br /> <br />Council reviewed the following bids received for the installation of certain <br /> <br />water and sewer lines required under the City's subdivision regulations to <br /> <br />serve the subdivision of H&A Corporation, off Stultz Road, following which <br /> <br />review Council accepted the lowest bid, being that of Bryant's Plumbing & <br /> <br />Heating: <br /> <br />Bryant's Plumbing & Heating Corporation <br />Prillaman & Pace, Inc. .... . . . . <br />Laramore Construction Company ... . . <br /> <br />. . $l7,000.00; <br />. $18,663.00; and <br />. $19,622.00. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />~ <br />I <br />W.
