G

TUESDAY

JUNE 9, 1970

If you fail to submit a satisfactory schedule by the June 15 deadline,
the staff will recommend to the Water Control Board at its July 6-8,
1970 meeting that a hearing be called for its next meeting to consider
issuing an order directing compliance with the water quality standards
within a time to be determined at the hearing.

All inquiries concerning this matter should be directed to the Pollution
Abatement Division of this agency.

City Manager Noland reported that the recently-constructed Aaron Street

Electric Substation was placed in service on June 7th.

Following its executive session to consider certain appointments and/or

reappointments for terms soon to expire, Council announced the reappointing

of Mr. William W. Edwards, Jr., to membership on the City School Board for

a three-year term beginning July 1, 1970 and the appointing of Mr. Worth H.

Carter also to a similar three-year term on the School Board to replace

Mr. Charles C. Broun who, after completing eighteen years tenure on the Board

(upon the forthcoming expiration of his term June 30th), expressed his wish

that he not be reappointed. Council directed its Clerk to express Council's

appreciation to Mr. Broun for his many years of dedicated and capable service

in this capacity.

Council was adjourned.

!.''o/t'tf --
W.
