<br />'J <br />- <br /> <br />MONDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 3. 1969 <br /> <br />/- <br /> <br />A special and duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia (called pursuant to written notice requirement set forth in Section <br /> <br />5(a) of Chapter 2 of the Charter of the City of Martinsville, 1956) was held <br /> <br />Monday, November 3, 1969, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 12 <br /> <br />o'clock noon. All members of'Council, with the exception of Mr. W. Donald <br /> <br />Hartford (who was out of the city), were present, viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Francis T. West; Harry L. Boaz; and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />After the invocation and after the stating of the purpose of this meeting, <br /> <br />viz., to consider and/or act upon the resolution introduced at Council's special <br /> <br />meeting held October 2, 1969, entitled "Resolution Providing for the Issuance <br /> <br />of $2,100,000.00 of Bonds of the City of Martinsville", Councilman Harry L. <br /> <br />Boaz moved for the final adoption of said resolution. Councilman William D. <br /> <br />Hobson seconded the motion, and the resolution--as hereinafter made a part of <br /> <br />these minutes--was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Noes: <br /> <br />F. T. Renick, M.D.; <br />Francis T. West; <br />Harry L. Boaz; and <br />William D. Hobson. <br />(none) <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />,,- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $2,100,000 OF BONDS OF THE <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council desires to provide for the issuance of <br />$2,100,000 of the bonds of the City of Martinsville, authorized by the <br />ordinance entitled "An ordinance authorizing the issuance of Three <br />Million Dollars ($3,000,000) of bonds of the City of Martinsville to <br />finance the cost of constructing and equipping a new senior high school <br />on North Side Drive and providing the necessary access, grading, <br />drainage, landscaping, utilities and architectural services; and the <br />cost of constructing and equipping a vocational shop and facilities at <br />the Albert Harris High School and providing the necessary access, <br />grading, drainage, landscaping, utilities and architectural services; <br />and the cost of constructing and equipping an addition to the shop on <br />Brown Street and providing the necessary access, grading, drainage, <br />
