27

TUESDAY

APRIL 23, 1974

--

citizen response with incriminating information had not been sufficient to bring about

an arrest, even after the Mayor and City Manager had offered a reward immediately after

the crime which had later been supplemented by private sums, for a total reward offer

of $6,000. All expressed the hope that those responsible for this and similar crimes

could be brought to justice.

On motion of Mr. Lester, seconded by Mr. Hartford and carried on a unanimous roll call

-

vote, Council voted to go into an executive session to consider:

1. A personnel matter which could conceivably involve a contract.
2. A briefing by the City Attorney on a legal matter now in litigation.

Upon returning to the Council Chamber from the adjacent conference room, Mayor West

explained that there had been a discussion of the matters to which reference had been

made in the motion to go into executive session, but that action of Council was neither

necessary nor taken, after which the meeting was adjourned at 9:10 P.
