<br />39: <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 31, 1977 <br /> <br />~-~ <br /> <br />suggestion of Councilman Oakes, pending consultations with the City School administration <br /> <br />thereon. <br /> <br />Council then began a line-by-line study of the proposed 1977-78 City Budget, discussing <br /> <br />in particular the estimates of revenue from water and sewer connection fees (and <br /> <br />suggesting that these estimates be adjusted downward from one hundred connections to <br /> <br />,.- <br /> <br />seventy-five connections), the projected fund surplus balances shown on the Finance <br /> <br />Director's statement dated April 29, 1977 and asking for an updating thereof, and the <br /> <br />several proposed new salary positions recommended by the City Manager, and more <br /> <br />specifically on the recommended position of Administrative Assistant to the City <br /> <br />Manager. <br /> <br />Then, upon motion (duly seconded and unanimously carried by recorded vote), Council <br /> <br />convened into an Executive Session to discuss personnel matters and salaries, pursuant <br /> <br />to Section 2.1-344 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), following which <br /> <br />Executive Session Council reconvened into regular session and announced that it desires <br /> <br />to take no action at this time on the matters discussed. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />L~~5 <br />w.
