<br />A special and duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville,
<br />

<br />Virginia was held jointly with the Martinsville City School Board at the
<br />
<br />Dutch Inn, Collinsville, Virginia, April 12, 1976, beginning at 12:30 P.M.,
<br />
<br />for the purpose of receiving the School Board's proposed budget for the
<br />
<br />fiscal year ending June 30, 1977, along with supplementary information in
<br />
<br />connection therewith. All members of Council were present, viz., Harry L. Boaz,
<br />
<br />Mayor; William D. Hobson, Vice Mayor; G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr.; Barry A. Greene; and
<br />

<br />Morton W. Lester.
<br />
<br />Members of the School Board, through Dr. James E. Calkins, School Superintendent,
<br />
<br />presented the following two summary statements, viz., receipts (as initially
<br />
<br />budgeted and subsequently revised for the current fiscal year, plus an estimate
<br />
<br />of receipts for 1976-77) and appropriations (for the current year and proposed
<br />
<br />for 1976-77):
