<br />f /1:' <br />l~b <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 10~ 1976 <br /> <br />License Transfers: It shall be unlawful for any person or firm~ <br />to whom or to which a City of Martinsville motor vehicle license <br />decal has been duly issued~ to give, loan, rent, sell~ assign, <br />or transfer such decal to another person or firm or to permit <br />otherwise another person or firm to use in any manner such <br />license decal; however, in the event the owner of a motor <br />vehicle, for which a license decal has been duly issued, <br />trades such vehicle for another vehicle for which a license <br />decal is required, the City Treasurer or his authorized <br />agent is hereby authorized to issue a new decal, for the <br />sum of one dollar ($1.00), upon presentation by the <br />licensee of all or a clearly identifiable portion of the <br />original decal. <br /> <br />Any person violating any provlslon of this ordinance shall <br />be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall <br />be punished as herein provided. Any owner of a motor vehicle~ <br />trailer or semi-trailer for which a license tax is required <br />under this ordinance, who fails to display the license decal <br />as required herein, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon <br />conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding <br />twenty dollars ($20.00). <br /> <br />Any ordinance of the City of Martinsvil1e heretofore passed <br />which is in conflict with this ordinance is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />An emergency existing~ this ordinance shall be in force on <br />March I, 1976. <br /> <br />Pursuant to a request of the City's Electoral Board~ Council authorized the <br /> <br />opening of the City's Voting Registrar's office during the evening of <br /> <br />April 2~ 1976, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland informed Council of a public hearing held on this <br /> <br />date (i.e.~ February 10, 1976) in Richmond~ Virginia on proposed legislation <br /> <br />(SB No. 166) whereby, if enacted~ cities and towns and/or other public <br /> <br />users of electricity will be permitted to join together in the constructing <br /> <br />and operating of electric generating facilities. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />/.
