<br />r.,f) <br />f.,.,r:." <br /> <br />FRIDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 25, 1975 <br /> <br />budget under advisement. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the Director of Finance, Council unanimously authorized <br /> <br />said Finance Director and the City Treasurer to borrow, if deemed necessary, <br /> <br />up to $300,000.00 on a temporary basis in anticipation of property tax <br /> <br />revenues now pending, with said borrowing to be paid back by June 30, 1975. <br /> <br />In order to avoid a conflict between Council's regularly-scheduled meeting <br /> <br />for May l3, 1975 and the annual Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce <br /> <br />meeting also scheduled for that date, at which time the Honorable Mills Godwin, <br /> <br />Governor of Virginia, will speak, Council rescheduled said May 13th meeting to <br /> <br />Tuesday, May 6, 1975, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council reappointed <br /> <br />Mr. W. K. Putney and Dr. William D. Lewis to new terms of three years each on <br /> <br />the City School Board, beginning July 1, 1975. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland reported that the City's entitlement (No.6) from Federal <br /> <br />Revenue-Sharing monies will yield the City during 1975-76 some $383,000.00 and <br /> <br />that a "Planned-Use Report" for these monies must be filed in time for the <br /> <br />Office of Revenue Sharing to receive same by June 24, 1975. <br /> <br />Upon inquiry of Vice-Mayor Hobson, members of the School Board and its <br /> <br />administration indicated that all local public school facilities are made <br /> <br />available for recreational usage during the summer months so long as adequate <br /> <br />supervision is available and/or provided. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />~-, <br />W.
