<br />- '''18) <br />..; l. <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 28, 1979 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously approved, Council authorized City Attorney <br /> <br />Worthy to file a request with the United States Department of Justice, seeking that <br /> <br />agency's approval of the local Electoral Board's intention or desire to open the City's <br /> <br />Registrar's office on Saturday, September 15, 1979, and on Saturday, September 22, 1979, <br /> <br />for the hours 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., to provide an opportunity for those citizens to <br /> <br />registrar to vote who can not so register during regular week-day office hours. <br /> <br />Pursuant to Section 2.1-344(6) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and upon <br /> <br />motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried (by a recorded vote), Council convened into <br /> <br />an Executive Session to consult with City Attorney Worthy on the status of a proposed water <br /> <br />service contract or agreement with the County of Henry and/or the Henry County Public Service <br /> <br />Authority (see Council minutes of April 10, 1979). Upon reconvening into regular session, <br /> <br />Council noted that no action is required on this matter. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br />
