n ,...
.~o

TUESDAY

APRIL 24, 1979

By memorandum report, the CBD Commission (through its chairman, Mr. George W. Brown,

the City's Assistant City Manager-Public Works Director) recommended that Council

authorize the City's entering into a contractual agreement with a local group

(represented by Mrs. Charles M. Stone) which would sponsor an organized Farmers'

Market, to be located on a portion of the City's Fayette Street Parking Lot and to

operate under the guidelines and/or rules attached to said memorandum report. Upon

motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council accepted the CBD Commission's

report and recommendations; and, also, directed the preparation of a lease agreement

between the City and the sponsoring organization for Council's consideration and/or

authorization for the execution thereof.

Council referred to the Planning Commission, for its consideration and recommendation,

a (verbal) petition presented on behalf of Mr. H. Banks Pannill by Mr. Stanford C.

Finney, of Greene's Gallery of Homes (and/or Earle W. Greene, Realtor), requesting the

rezoning to an appropriate commercial zone petitioner's property consisting of Lots

Nos. 4, 5, 6, and 7, on Askin and South Streets, as shown on "Park Place Survey" dated

1923.

Council was adjourned.

,~v.::" :-'::_'

.. .... ,-.-

W.
