October 24,2006

explained that staff was recommending Option 1 with an estimated cost of

$20,000. However, the space in the basement of the Sheriff's Office that was

initially proposed to house Leisure Services is not adequate and other locations

are being considered at this time, possibly some school space. City Manager

Collins indicated that Option 1 would be the least expensive and he would like

Council's approval with a budget adjustment of no more than $20,000. Wade

Bartlett, Finance Director, has found funds in the current budget to cover this

amount. Miss Ziglar's choice would be Option 3. Council Member Anderson

asked about .the J & D Court and City Manager Collins. said the Judge

indicated his needs were not as pressing and would probably be several years

down the road. After further discussion and questions by Council, Vice Mayor

Clark made a motion to approve Option 1 with a budget of $20;000 to relocate,

Leisure Services; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following

vote, with all members voting: Vote 5-0. Yeas (5) - Reynolds, Clark, Anderson,

Ferrill, Lawson. Nays (0) - None. Mayor Reynolds indicated if it did not take

the $20,000 to relocate Leisure Services and Option 3 can be done within that

amount, that it be considered.

Ruth Easley, Commissioner of the Revenue, gave a quarterly report on

the revenue breakdowns of the FY 2006-2007 Real Property, Personal Property

Book and Public Service Properties along with a report on the business licenses

and meals tax.
