<br />08 <br />,J <br /> <br />JULY 11, 1978 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />Council agreed to conduct its 1978 tour of City streets, for the consideration of <br /> <br />petitions seeking the construction by the City of curb-and-gutter and/or sidewalks, <br /> <br />on Friday, July 14, 1978, beginning at 12:30 P.M. <br /> <br />On behalf of the Planning Commission, which held a duly-advertised public hearing <br /> <br />during the afternoon of July 11, 1978, on the matter herein reported on, Mr. Irving R. <br /> <br />McGhee, the City's Traffic & Planning Director and Ex-Officio Secretary to the Planning <br /> <br />Commission, informed Council that the Commission recommends that Council not approve <br /> <br />the Special-Use Permit Application filed with Council at its April 25th meeting by the <br /> <br />American Property Management Corporation, a division or subsidiary of The Lester Group, <br /> <br />seeking permission to be allowed to construct a fifteen-unit apartment complex on a 1.2 <br /> <br />acre tract at or near Barrows Mill Road and the C1earview School Drive, for reasons of <br /> <br />unsuitable topography and the proposed location of the apartment buildings. Council <br /> <br />continued this matter to its next regular meeting. <br /> <br />In conclusion, Council viewed a film portraying the increasing demands for energy, <br /> <br />particularly in the United States, and the decreasing supply of energy sources throughtout <br /> <br />the world, along with alternate methods by which energy must be developed and conserved. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />"''-... <br /> <br /> <br />w. ?'~~.ci~rk of Council <br /> <br />-~. -.J <br />
