<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 10, 1982 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />8. Hazard prevention: Whenever a building is demolished or removed, <br />the premises shall be maintained free from all unsafe or hazardous <br />conditions by the proper use of the premises and by restoration of <br />established grades and by the erection of necessary retaining walls <br />and fences. <br /> <br />9. Disregard of notice: Upon refusal or neglect of the person or <br />persons served with an unsafe notice to comply with the requirements <br />of the order to abate the unsafe condition, the Building Official <br />shall proceed to: <br /> <br />a. Order the necessary work to be performed by <br />City forces or by contract. <br /> <br />b. Send a bill for such work to the owner within <br />ten (10) days of completion. <br /> <br />c. If such bill is not paid within (30) days from <br />the date of billing, transmit it to the City <br />Treasurer, who shall include such amount in <br />the next regular tax bill of the owner. Such <br />charges which remain unpaid shall constitute a <br />lien against the property in question and may <br />be collected as all other taxes and levies are <br />collected. <br /> <br />10. Penalty: The failure, neglect or refusal of an owner to comply <br />with the terms of any notice pursuant to this section shall <br />constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />After discussing certain sections of a proposed ordinance (introduced July 27, 1982) which <br /> <br />would replace Chapter 8 of the City Code by establishing new regulations pertaining to <br /> <br />trash, weeds and the burning thereof, and refuse collection, Council called for a duly- <br /> <br />advertised public hearing to be conducted on this proposed ordinance at Council's forth- <br /> <br />coming August 24th meeting. <br /> <br />Council scheduled for adoption at its forthcoming August 24th meeting an ordinance (as <br /> <br />introduced) which would amend the City's Business & Professional License Tax Ordinance <br /> <br />by reclassifying therein the occupation of a private investigator, private detective or <br /> <br />private security service business. <br />
