<br />,... <br /> <br />n <br />f <br /> <br />JUNE 1, 1982 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, called by action <br /> <br />taken by the Council at its regular meeting conducted May 25, 1982, was held Tuesday, <br /> <br />June 1, 1982, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 1:30 P.M., for the pur- <br /> <br />pose of considering and/or taking action on a proposed water agreement or contract be- <br /> <br />tween the City of Martinsville and the Henry County Public Service Authority. All <br /> <br />members of Council were present, viz., Mayor Barry A. Greene, presiding; William C. <br /> <br />Cole, Vice Mayor; L. D. Oakes; Henry C. Reed; and Francis T. West. <br /> <br />After the invocation, and the purpose of this special meeting being stated, upon <br /> <br />motion--duly seconded and unanimously carried by a recorded vote--Council convened <br /> <br />into an Executive Session to consider said proposed agreement or contract, pursuant to <br /> <br />Section 2.1-344(a)(6) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended). <br /> <br />Upon reconvening into open session, and upon motion--duly seconded and unanimously <br /> <br />carried--Council approved said proposed agreement or contract and the offered source <br /> <br />of water, subject to: <br /> <br />1. Final review as to all legalities by the City Attorney and the attorney <br />for the Henry County Public Service Authority and/or the County of Henry; <br /> <br />2. Final preparation of all necessary exhibits; <br /> <br />3. Submission of entire proposition to the State Health Department for <br />review and comment; <br /> <br />4. Final determination of "interim allocation" and tentative time schedule <br />for construction of new intake/lines; and <br /> <br />5. Further revision and clarification as to matters of reallocation, cost <br />of interim allocation to the HCPS Authority, and who shall bear the <br />connection cost of the PSA system to the City's system. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />, Clerk of Council <br />
