<br />MONDAY <br /> <br />MAY 24, 1982 <br /> <br />.,_. <br /> <br />adverse effect claimed upon the proposed salary scale for teachers, indicating that <br /> <br />no where else in the school budget can further reductions be made. Councilman West <br /> <br />then offered the motion, seconded by Mayor Greene, that the total proposed 1982-83 <br /> <br />City Budget be revised to reflect the following: <br /> <br />1. A reduction in estimated revenue in the amount of $168,000.00 through <br />a reduction by six cents in the real estate tax rate (i.e., from 92~ <br />to 86~); <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />2. A reduction in the proposed cost-of-living salary-wage plan by 1% (i.e., <br />from the proposed 8% to 7%), amounting to $35,000.00; <br /> <br />3. An adjustment, per the City School Board's revised estimate of the <br />net local cost of operating the school system for 1982-83, from <br />$3,950,000.00 to $3,901,000.00; and <br /> <br />4. A further reduction of the revised net local cost (of $3,901,000.00) in <br />the amount of $84,000.00. <br /> <br />This motion carried by a vote of four-to-one (Vice Mayor Cole voting against the motion). <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />.i__..__ <br />
