<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Sec. 2-4. <br /> <br />Sec. 3-2. <br /> <br />Sec. 3-3. <br /> <br />Sec. 3-4. <br /> <br />JANUARY 12. 1982 <br /> <br />Police And Fire Deoartments-- <br />Comoosition and Powers: Off-Dutv ~9lovme~ <br />or Police and Deoutv Sheriff~1 <br /> <br />(a) The city police and fire departments shall consist of <br />such officers and employees as shall be authorized by <br />the council. <br /> <br />(b) In addition to the powers conferred by state law, any <br />police officer of the city shall have the power to <br />make arrests for violations of any law or ordinance <br />relating to the operation and use of any public water <br />supply facility, waterShed, sewage disposal plant, <br />public landing, dock, or wharf, and any other public <br />property owned by the city located beyond the limits <br />of the city, at such city facility or property. <br /> <br />(c) Any police officer or deputy sheriff of the city amy <br />engage in off-duty employment which may occasionally <br />require the use of their police powers in the per- <br />formance of such employment. Such off-duty employ- <br />ment shall be subject to such rules and regulations <br />as may be promulgated by the chief of police, as to <br />police officers so employed, or the sheriff, as to <br />deputy sheriffs so employed. <br /> <br />CHAPTER '3. <br />ANIMALS AND FOWL. <br /> <br />Animals RUlllrl.~ at Lar~e. <br /> <br />Any person who shall permit any livestoCk, poultry, or bird <br />to run or fly at large or unattended upon any street, alley, <br />or sidewalk, in any park, or upon the premises of another in <br />the city shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Definitions Used. <br /> <br />The definitions set forth in Section 29-213.6 of the Code of <br />Virginia (1950) shall ap~ly to this chapter. <br /> <br />Kee9in~ Livestock and Fowl Within the Citv. <br /> <br />( b) <br /> <br />Add to last sentence: hThe animal warden shall be <br />given a copy of any permit issued.
