<br />10 <br />~._) f~.j <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 23, 1981 <br /> <br />Council unanimously approved--for execution by City Manager Edmonds--a new <br /> <br />lease agreement with the U. S. Army's Corps of Engineers whereby, effective <br /> <br />July 1, 1981, the United States Government will pay to the City the sum of <br /> <br />$95.00 per month for the use of 110 designated parking spaces in and around <br /> <br />City Hall by U. S. Government-owned vehicles one week-end each month. <br /> <br />Council also unanimously approved--for execution by City Manager Edmonds--a <br /> <br />deed of conveyance by which the City will sell to Mr. James P. Price, Jr., for <br /> <br />the sum of $4,500.00, the residue of Lot No. 75 of the Southside Addition <br /> <br />Subdivision located on the west side of Maryland Street, adjacent to the north <br /> <br />line of Memorial Boulevard, with the understanding that the residual of said <br /> <br />Lot No. 75 will be combined with Mr. Price's Lot No. 74 pursuant to the City's <br /> <br />policy governing the disposition of partial lots, and provided that a IS-foot <br /> <br />strip of Lot No. 75 be retained by the City along and adjacent to the north <br /> <br />right-of-way of Memorial Boulevard (street right-of-way to be 15Yz feet behind <br /> <br />the sidewalk), and provided that any future sale of the residue of Lot No. 75 <br /> <br />will be made only in conjunction with the sale of Lot No. 74. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the following <br /> <br />ordinance establishing revised sewer service charge rates, effective July 1, 1981: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled, that the sewer service rate(s) to be <br />levied against users (both within and without the City's corporate <br />limits), as heretofore set forth in an ordinance stipulating terms <br />and conditions of water and sewer service (Appendix A), as approved <br />by Martinsville City Council on March 24, 1981, be and is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sewer Service Rates <br /> <br />For each 1,000 gallons of metered water per month <br /> <br />$0.80 <br /> <br />Minimum charge for each customer-user per month . <br /> <br />$3.20 <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that these amended rates shall <br />be in effect on and after July 1, 1981. <br />
