<br />$65,000.00 less than a 5% COLA increase would cost, by
<br />which cost assumption by the City the employees' net
<br />take-home pay would increase by 6.7% to 8.1%, depending
<br />on income, marital status, withholding exemptions, and
<br />other tax considerations;
<br />
<br />(5) To correct arithmetical variances which have developed and
<br />have been compounded by prior COLA adjustments in the City's
<br />formal pay plan, at a cost of $25,935.00;
<br />
<br />(6) To provide for continued implementation of the City's pay
<br />plan (during 1983-84), i.e., for training and longevity
<br />step increases, at a cost of some $35,000.00; and
<br />
<br />(7) No increase in total number of personnel under the City
<br />Manager's jurisdiction.
<br />
<br />The following is a summary of revenues and expenditures, for the year beginning July 1,
<br />
<br />1983, and the estimated effect upon the financial conditions of the City's several funds,
<br />
<br />as set forth in Mr. Edmonds' recommended 1983-84 City Budget, which budget includes his
<br />
<br />best estimate of the City School Board's 1983-84 budget requests yet to be presented:
