<br />40 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9, 1986 <br /> <br />In compliance with the requirements of subsection (a)(l) of Section 2.1-344 of the <br /> <br />CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and <br /> <br />unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council convened into an Executive Session <br /> <br />for the purpose of considering nominees for appointment or reappointment to certain <br /> <br />boards and commissions and for the purpose of considering a personnel matter. Upon <br /> <br />reconvening into regular session, Council unanimously made the following appoint- <br /> <br />ments and/or reappointments: <br /> <br />A. Mr. William P. Heath, Jr., to the Martinsville-Henry County Economic <br />Development Corporation's Board of Directors for the unexpired term <br />(ending 06-30-90) of Mr. J. Thomas Vaughan, resigned; <br /> <br />B. Messrs. Oakley H. Fitzgerald, Franklin L. Frazier, Martin Kravitz, and <br />Clyde L. Williams (Vice-Mayor) were reappointed to the City's Trans- <br />portation Safety Commission for four-year terms beginning January 1, <br />1987, and ending December 31, 1990; and MHS student John Pearson, a <br />Junior, was appointed to said Commission for the remainder of the <br />current academic year; and <br /> <br />C. Dr. Larry J. Kellogg (of the City School System) to the Anchor Commis- <br />sion for a four-year term beginning January 1, 1987, and ending <br />December 31, 1990 (succeeding Dr. Joseph Leizer, who elected not be be <br />reappointed). <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes then declared this meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />w.
