<br />FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 1986 <br /> <br />execute (on behalf of the City) two purchase option agreements which, if options <br /> <br />are exercised, will enable the City to replace said 118 spaces. One option <br /> <br />agreement will be with James Clayton Stone and his wife, Cevera M. Stone, for <br /> <br />the purchase of the residue of their two lots identified as Lots Nos. 25 and 26 <br /> <br />on Gravely Street for the sum of $65,000.00; whereas the other option agreement <br /> <br />is with Citizens Bank Group for the purchase of three parcels of land situated <br /> <br />on the south side of West Main Street and/or abutting the south side of Moss <br /> <br />Street, between West Main Street and West Church Street, for the sum of <br /> <br />,-' <br /> <br />$139,000.00 (with $5,000.00 being required for the option but applied to said <br /> <br />purchase price if option is exercised). <br /> <br />A number of local citizens were present at this meeting and expressed concur- <br /> <br />rence with--and endorssement of--Council's and the Authority's actions in this <br /> <br />special meeting as well as appreciation of Council's efforts and the efforts of <br /> <br />other interested citizens toward obtaining a developer of the Authority's <br /> <br />property and, especially, the type of development proposed therefor by Elledge & <br /> <br />Associates. Among those speaking to this matter and commending Council and the <br /> <br />City Administration were Mrs. Becky Aydlett, Chairman of the Commercial Develop- <br /> <br />ment Commission; Mr. Lawrence Wuensch, Executive Director of the Martinsville/ <br /> <br />Henry County Economic Development Corporation; and Mr. A. L. Aydlett, Jr., <br /> <br />~-, <br /> <br />Executive Vice-President of the Martinsville/Henry County Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />In addition, Mr. Elledge acknowledged with appreciation the courtesies and <br /> <br />cooperation extended him and his firm by City officials and other interested <br /> <br />persons and/or organizations. <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes then declared this special meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />(r'}.").;..'"......,..y;i-.o.
