26J

MONDAY, APRIL 28, 1986

,-

ATTACHMENT G: The School Board proposes that $97,000.00 of unen-
cumbered funds if available in the 1985-86 school budget be utilized
to purchase the items listed on this attachment.
- The use of these unencumbered funds will enable us to purchase
necessary items not included in the 1986-87 school budget.

-',

ATTACHMENT H: The final status of the proposed 1986-87 budget with
updated revisions of the 1985-86 budget is summarized on this attach-
ment.
- The period 1978 to 1987 is covered on this summary.
In the summary the second line (Estimated State and Local Non-
Tax Funds) shows for 1986-87 the lowest increase over the pre-
vious year during the last nine year period.
The effect of changes in state and local aid this coming year
will have a significant effect on our budget. It is obvious
that the state legislature is intent on returning more of the
cost of public education to each locality and aSSumes that
divisions which have consistently supported education well in
the past will continue to do so in the future.

The following attachments provide supplementary information helpful in
putting the 1986-87 school budget in proper perspective:

Supplementary Attachment #1: Cost of One Percent Salary Increases
for 1986-87

Supplementary Attachment #2: 1986-87 Beginning Teacher Salaries
for Neighboring School Divisions and
Mart insville

Supplementary Attachment #3:
Supplementary Attachment #4:
Supplementary Attachment #5:
Supplementary Attachment #6:
Supplementary Attachment #7 :
Supplementary Attachment #8:
Supplementary Attachment #9:

1985-86 Teacher Salary Scales
1985-86 Administrative Salary Scales
Certificated Teacher Costs

Annual Debt Service Requirement

Personnel Requests for 1986-87

School Membership and Enrollment

SRA Test Results Ability and
Achievement

In the ensuing discussion of the data presented by the School Board, some observations

and/or comments by members of Council and/or by representatives of the School Board

pertained to the following matters:

1.
