<br />In connection with these presentations, Commissioner of the Revenue J. Ronnie Minter
<br />
<br />suggested that, hereafter, the varions City constitutional officers be afforded the
<br />
<br />Board, and from Mr. Joseph E. Finley, of the administrative staff of the Martins-
<br />
<br />sions from Mr. William W. Edwards, Jr., a memher of the Martinsville City School
<br />
<br />requests. Meanwhile, these "highlight" pres~tations received complimentary expres-
<br />
<br />opportunity in such future public hearings of "highlighting" their respective budget
<br />
<br />City government as well as acknowledged with appreciation the support given the
<br />
<br />School System, cited the excellent rapport between the City School System and the
<br />
<br />ville City School System; whereas, Dr. James E. Calkins, Superintendent of the City
<br />

<br />hearing closed; whereupon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council
<br />,

<br />There being no other persons asking to be heard, Mayor Oakes declared this public
<br />
<br />School System and its administrative staff by the City and its administrative staff.
<br />
<br />adopted the following ordinance (identified as Ordinance No. 87-5) which adopts the
<br />
<br />1987-88 (the latter being those in effect for 1986-87):

<br />proposed 1987-88 City Budget, as modified, and sets the property tax rates for
<br />

<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in
<br />regular meeting assembled this ninth day of June, 1987, that the following
<br />sums of money be and hereby are appropriated--by Funds--for the City's
<br />fiscal year ending June 30, 1988, from the following Fund sources of
<br />estimated revenue:
