<br />f1 <br />L,~t '~. <br /> <br />August 22, 2006 <br /> <br />Ralph Lawson, on behalf of the Exchange Club of Martinsville and Henry <br /> <br />County. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferrill made a motion to approve the FY2006-07 <br /> <br />Performance Contract between Piedmont Community Services and the Virginia <br /> <br />Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse <br /> <br />Services; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with <br /> <br />all members voting: Vote 5-0. Yeas (5) - Reynolds, Clark, Anderson, Ferrill, <br /> <br />Lawson. Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferrill made a motion that Council decline to participate <br /> <br />with Henry County in an independent analysis of a regional water and sewer <br /> <br />authority. However, the City should cooperate in providing any information we <br /> <br />currently have available if the County decides to do its own study. The motion <br /> <br />was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: <br /> <br />Vote 4-0. Yeas (4) - Reynolds, Clark, Ferrill, Lawson. Nays (0) - None. Absent <br /> <br />(1) - Anderson. <br /> <br />Council next considered adoption of City Council Goals & Initiatives for <br /> <br />2006-2007. <br /> <br />After discussion and suggested additions, Mayor Reynolds <br /> <br />reminded Council that they could be changed or updated at any time after their <br /> <br />adoption. With that in mind, Council Member Ferrill moved to adopt the Goals <br /> <br />& Initiatives with the suggested additions; the motion was duly seconded and <br />
