<br />August 14,2006 <br /> <br />A Community Meeting with City Council for the Druid HillsjUptown area <br /> <br /> <br />was held on August 14, 2006, at the Blue Ridge Regional Library, 310 East <br /> <br /> <br />Church Street, Martinsville, Virginia, beginning at 7:00 P. M., with Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />Kimble Reynolds, Jr. presiding. Council Members present included: Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />Kimble Reynolds, Jr. and Council Members Mark T. Anderson, J. Ronald Ferrill <br /> <br /> <br />and Kathy C. Lawson. Vice Mayor James W. Clark was absent. <br /> <br />Mayor Reynolds opened the meeting, welcoming all in attendance and <br /> <br />asking anyone who wished to make comments to approach the podium and <br /> <br />state their name and address. Comments were received from the following <br /> <br />individuals: <br />Carolyn Carr, 1712 Meadowview Lane - water run off from Kenmar Drive <br /> <br />onto Meadowview Lane, improvements needed at Wilson Park. <br /> <br />Raymond Carr, 1712 Meadowview Lane - water run off from Kenmar <br /> <br />Drive onto Meadowview Lane, gateway into city on West Church Street, <br /> <br />increasing generating capacity at hydro. <br />Joe Whitten, 817 Hundley Street - value of personal property <br /> <br />deteriorating due to rental properties on the street, need to give citizens more <br /> <br />notice when "No Parking" signs are being put on a street <br /> <br />Carolyn Beal, 509 Mulberry Road - improvements to Wilson Park, better <br /> <br />enforcement of noise ordinance relating to loud speakers in cars, mounted <br /> <br />police patrol, using bricks for crosswalks uptown instead of painted yellow. <br />
