<br />August 8, 2006 <br /> <br />The next item was discussion of approval of the FY2006-07 Performance <br /> <br />Contract between Piedmont Community Services and the Virginia Department <br /> <br />of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services. Jim <br /> <br />Tobin, Executive Director of Piedmont Community Services gave a brief <br /> <br />overview and there being no questions, the item will be placed on the next <br /> <br />agenda for Council action. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferrill referred back to the update from the EDC and <br /> <br />asked the City Manager to announce for the public the types of business <br /> <br />prospects we currently have. Dan Collins, City Manager, stated there are <br /> <br />currently three categories - manufacturing, distribution and industrial. <br /> <br />Council next considered discussion of goals and initiatives for FY07. Mr. <br /> <br />Collins handed out a first draft for Council's review and by consensus, a <br /> <br />special work session was set for Wednesday, August 9, at 5:00 p.m. to review <br /> <br />the goals and initiatives with staff. <br /> <br />The Consent Agenda items will be on the next agenda for action. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferrill reminded everyone of the next Community <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting for the Druid Hills/Uptown area scheduled for Monday, August 14, at <br /> <br /> <br />7:00 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Regional Library. Council Member Lawson asked <br /> <br /> <br />what was Council's next step concerning the presentation on the facility for <br />
