<br />July 17, 2006 <br /> <br />A Community Meeting with City Council for the NorthsidejChatham <br /> <br /> <br />Heights area was held on July 17, 2006, at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church, <br /> <br /> <br />107 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, Virginia, beginning at 7:00 P. M., with Vice <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor James Clark presiding. Council Members present included: Vice Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />James W. Clark and Council Members Mark T. Anderson, J. Ronald Ferrill, <br /> <br />and Kathy C. Lawson. Mayor Kimble Reynolds, Jr. was absent. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Clark opened the meeting, welcoming all in attendance and <br /> <br />asking anyone who wished to make comments to approach the podium and <br /> <br />state their name and address. Comments were received from the following <br /> <br /> <br />individuals: <br /> <br /> <br />L. D. Oakes, 1713 Mulberry Road - completion of the Liberty <br /> <br /> <br />Streetj Clearview intersection project, anticipated starting date of Phase II of <br /> <br /> <br />project, landfill closure, City Council working together, building relationships <br /> <br /> <br />with citizens and working with Henry County. <br /> <br /> <br />Dave Smith, 133 Greyson Street - completion of intersection project, <br /> <br /> <br />section on Greyson Street that is in the County, cable purchase. <br /> <br />Bruce Dallas, 211 Massey Street - status of new housing development by <br /> <br />Wellon Foundation being built on Barrows Mill Road, regional landfill, mail not <br /> <br /> <br />being delivered on both sides of Clearview Drive, Council availability. <br /> <br /> <br />Sam Harris, 116 Crescent Street - possibility of getting sidewalks In <br /> <br /> <br />some areas of Northside, requiring new businesses to maintain their pay scale. <br />
