The State has approved three <br /> <br /> <br />new positions for the Commonwealth Attorney's Office and Council will need to <br /> <br /> <br />approve adjustments to the budget to cover the city's share of the costs once <br /> <br /> <br />we get the final figures from the State. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Collins also mentioned a Historical Heritage Roundtable discussion <br /> <br /> <br />on Thursday, June 28, at 5:30 p.m. at Piedmont Arts Association. Community <br /> <br />Development will be mailing out a survey to get citizens' input for the update to <br /> <br />the comprehensive plan. <br /> <br />Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance <br /> <br /> <br />with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and <br /> <br /> <br />upon motion by Council Member Roop, duly seconded, and by unanimous <br /> <br /> <br />recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of <br /> <br />discussing the following matters: Appointments to Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />as authorized by Subsection 1 and Consultation with legal counsel pertaining <br /> <br />to specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by such counsel, <br /> <br />as authorized by Subsection 7. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each returning member of <br /> <br />Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open <br /> <br />meeting requirements were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only <br /> <br />those business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session <br /> <br />were heard, discussed, or considered during said Session. Upon returning to <br /> <br />Open Session, Council took the following action: <br />
