Nays: (0)- None. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan River Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) came into existence by <br />Resolution ,of the City Council of Danville, Virginia, under the provisions of Section 18.2-271.1, <br />Code of Virginia 1950, as amended; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Danville, Virginia, has agreed to be and remain cash flow agency (fiscal <br />agent) for Dan River ASAP for the purpose of applying for State and Federal grants only; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan River ASAP provides services to the courts of City of Danville and City of <br />Martinsville, County of Franklin, County of Henry, County of Patrick and County of Pittsylvania <br />and develops programming and alcohol service delivery mechanisms that will primarily serve to <br />substantially reduce the number of highway hazards and accidents resulting from the <br />consumption of alcohol and drugs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on April 13, 1982, Martinsville City Council adopted the initial Articles of <br />Agreement Concerning the Dan River ASAP and By-Laws and now it has become necessary to <br />update said Articles of Agreement and By-Laws; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 23, 2006, the Policy Board of Dan River ASAP approved the amended <br />Articles of Agreement and By-laws; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular session <br />assembled April 25, 2006, that said Council does hereby adopt the amended Articles of <br />Agreement and By-laws of the Dan River ASAP. <br /> <br />Council next considered the adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance <br /> <br />No. 2006-2 amending Section 24-6 Archery Season for Deer of the City Code. <br /> <br />City Attorney Eric Monday indicated that there had been one more change to <br /> <br />the Ordinance since approved on first reading, which was a recommendation <br /> <br />by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries to leave out any reference to <br /> <br />specific seasons.
