Nays: (0)- None. <br /> <br />Council next conducted a public hearing and considered approval of a <br /> <br />request by First Baptist Church-East Martinsville, to purchase from the City <br /> <br />residual right-of-way from the former US 58 consisting of 5938 square feet <br /> <br />fronting 1043 East Church Street for a price of $1,300. <br /> <br />Wayne Knox, Director of Community Development, explained that this is <br /> <br />basically a berm that cannot be developed and the church has already been <br /> <br />maintaining. Mayor Cobbe opened the public hearing. No one spoke and <br /> <br />Mayor Cobbe then declared the public hearing closed. Vice Mayor Reynolds <br /> <br />moved to approve the sale to the Church for the sum of $1,300; the motion was <br /> <br />duly seconded and carried by the following vote, all members voting: Vote: 5-0. <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) - Cobbe, Reynolds, Roop, Ferrill, Clark.
