When and where does your SALT Council meet? we meet the second Tuesday of eve:-
month at lOam in the City of MartinsviIle VA Municipal building. 55 West Church Street
MartinsviIle. VA 24114

Please describe your most successful Triad activity of 2005:
We held three seminars in 2005 in which attendance ranged from 212 to 250 seniors! The
topics ranged from Safe Driving Tips for Seniors to Medi-Care Part D. We are now looking for
new venues to hold our seminars because attendance keeps growing!

Please check all programs/services which your Triad actively participates in:

~ File of Life ~ Project Lifesaver ~ Emergency Beacon Lights ~ Cell Phone

Drives/E9ll ~ Senior Day/Info. Fairs ~ Triad Brochures ~ Safety Manuals

~ Monthly Programs @ SALT Meetings ~ Senior Citizen Police Academies

_ Adopt-A-Senior

X Senior Socials

~ Fundraising for your Triad

~ Senior Surveys ~ Other (please explain) Yellow Dot Program. ID Theft programs.

and many others

How has Triad helped your community?
Triad has helped get our seniors more involved in their community and more aware of personal
safety issues. In surveys, we have shown that the educational materials, products and
information we have provided has decreased the level of the fear of crime they feel in their
community. Our programs continue to grow as more and more seniors learn more about the
programs and services we provide as a function of our SALT Council. On at least one occasion
the Beacon Bulb lights we gave out helped save one of senior's lives by alerting a neighbor.

What services or assistance do you need this year from the Virginia State Triad Office?
To continue the OUTSTANDING support we haye received thus far from your office.

Jennifer Hasty, Triad Director
Office of the Attorney General
900 East Main Street
Richmond, VA 23219
(804) 692-0689 (fax)
jhasty@oag.state.va.us

BACK TO TRIAD MAIN PAGE

2
