<br />1 '. <br />_I.,) , <br /> <br />January 20-21 , 2006 <br /> <br />A summit meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, was <br /> <br />held on January 20-21, 2006, in Frith Performance Hall, Piedmont Arts <br /> <br />Association, 215 Starling Avenue, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with Mayor Joe <br /> <br />Cobbe presiding. Council Members present included: Joseph R. Cobbe, <br /> <br />Mayor; Kimble Reynolds, Jr., Vice Mayor; and Council Members James W. <br /> <br />Clark and J. Ronald Ferrill and Terry L. Roop. Tyler St. Clair, of the Weldon <br /> <br />Cooper Center, facilitated the meeting. <br /> <br />A presentation on "Thirteen points to remember when dealing with <br /> <br />people" was given by William Nutt. <br /> <br />Mayor Cobbe called Council into business session at 1 :00 p.m. Council <br /> <br />then considered adoption of a Resolution reaffirming and restating denial of <br /> <br />Form 394 Applications submitted by Adelphia and Time Warner Cable. After <br /> <br />Mayor Cobbe read the Resolution, Council Member Roop moved to adopt the <br /> <br />following Resolution; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the <br /> <br />following vote, all members voting: Vote: 5-0. Yeas: (5) Cobbe, Reynolds, Roop, <br /> <br />Ferrill, Clark.
