<br />., <br />(' <br />.J. ~ <br /> <br />December 13, 2005 <br /> <br />100 care packages sent to the military unit in Iraq that the city has adopted <br /> <br />have been received and she has received a letter of appreciation from them. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Reynolds returned to the meeting at 2:46 PM. <br /> <br />Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance <br /> <br />with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and <br /> <br />upon motion by Council Member Roop, duly seconded, and by unanimous <br /> <br />recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of <br /> <br />discussing the following matters: Appointments to Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />as authorized by Subsection 1 and Consultation with legal counsel pertaining <br /> <br />to specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by counsel as <br /> <br />authorized by Subsection 7. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each returning member of <br /> <br />Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open <br /> <br />meeting requirements were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only <br /> <br />those business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session <br /> <br />were heard, discussed, or considered during said Session. Upon returning to <br /> <br />Open Session, Council took the following action: <br /> <br />A. Appointments to Boards and Commissions as authorized by <br /> <br />Subsection 1. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferrill moved to appoint Kim Adkins of 1010 Sheraton <br /> <br />Court to a four-year term on the Industrial Development Authority ending <br />
