.l,~,

November 8, 2005

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Martinsville City Council hereby designates the following
individual as the official, primary liaison between this community, the newly adopted unit, and
America Supporting Americans, as the organization which has facilitated this adoption: Iris
Read, Human Resources Manager. All contact information for this individual is included in the
Adoption Agreement Form accompanying this Adoption Resolution.

The City of Martinsville in the State of Virginia hereby encourages all City employees,
businesses, service clubs, charitable organizations, and private citizens to become involved in
supporting this adoption.

A copy of this resolution shall be posted in a central, public place and shall be sent to the
Virginia League of Cities urging participation in this cause.

Council considered the City Manager's and School Superintendent's

request to re-appropriate funds in the FY05 to the FY06 budget and approve

FY06 budget adjustments. Council Member Roop moved to approve the

attached re-appropriations and adjustments (Attachment A); the motion was

duly seconded and carried by the following vote, all members voting: Vote: 5-0.

Yeas: (5) - Cobbe, Reynolds, Roop, Ferrill, Clark. Nays: (0) - None.

Council Member Clark moved to reconsider the request from the

Martinsville-Henry County Historical Society concerning landfill tipping fees

relating to the demolition of the Henry County Courthouse annex. However,

there was no second to the motion and the action taken at the October 11,

2005 Council meeting stands.

Council considered awarding a contract for the demolition of the former

YMCA building on Cleveland Avenue to Carnell Construction for $111,385. It

is recommended that $120,000 be transferred from the Electric Fund fund
