March 22, 2005 <br /> <br />Appointments to Boards and Commissions, as authorized by <br />Subsection 1. <br />1. Dan River ASAP Policy Board <br />2. Henry-Martinsville Social Services Board <br />3. Martinsville Architectural Board <br />4. Martinsville Tree Board <br />5. West Piedmont Disability Services Board <br />The disposition of real property, as authorized by Subsection 3. <br />Consultation with legal counsel regarding specific legal matters <br />requiring the provision of legal counsel, as authorized by <br />Subsection 7. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each returning member of Council <br /> <br />certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements <br /> <br />were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified <br /> <br />in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered <br /> <br />during said Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following actions: <br /> <br />ko <br /> <br />2. Council Member Roop moved to appoint Robert L. Gunter, <br />of 1007 Mulberry Road, to an unexpired four-year term on the <br />Henry-Martinsville Social Services Board ending May 31, 2007; the <br />motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with <br />all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Clark, Cobbe, Ferrill, <br />Reynolds, Roop; Nays (0) - None. <br />3. Council Member Ferrill moved to appoint Jerry D. <br />Blankenship, of 347 East Church Street, James D. Coleman, of <br />1202 Mulberry Road, and Matthew C. Hankins, of 1803 Sam Lions <br />Trail, to three-year terms on the Martinsville Architectural Review <br />Board ending March 31, 2008; the motion was duly seconded and <br />carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; <br />Yeas (5) - Clark, Cobbe, Ferrill, Reynolds, Roop; Nays (0) - None. <br />4. Vice Mayor Reynolds moved to appoint Benjamin Bailey, of <br />1014 Mountain Road, and Douglas R. Goldstein, of 816 Mulberry <br />Road, to three-year terms on the Martinsville Tree Board ending <br />March 31, 2008; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the <br />following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - <br />Clark, Cobbe, Ferrill, Reynolds, Roop; Nays (0) - None. <br />Vice Mayor Reynolds moved to set a Public Hearing for April 12, <br />2005, relative to the acquisition of real property at 104 Sycamore <br />Street; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following <br />vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Clark, Cobbe, <br />Ferrill, Reynolds, Roop; Nays (0) - None.
