January 25,2005 Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virqinia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion by Vice Mayor Reynolds, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: Appointments to Boards and Commissions, Subsection 1. 1. Community Criminal Justice Board 2. Patrick Henry Community College Board 3. West Piedmont Disability Services Board as authorized by At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each returning member of Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following action: 1. Council Member Ferdll moved to reappoint Tony L. Millner, Jr., of 141 Howard Drive, to a two-year term on the Community Criminal Justice Board ending February 28, 2007; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Clark, Cobbe, Ferrill, Reynolds, Roop; Nays (0) - None. 3. Council Member Roop moved to reappoint David C. Bridges to a three-year City Official term on the West Piedmont Disability Services Board ending February 26, 2008; the motion was duly seconded and carried by lhe following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Clark, Cobbe, Ferrill, Reynolds, Roop; Nays (0) - None. There being no further business to come before Council during their regular meeting, upon motion by Council Member Ferrill, duly seconded, by unanimous vote, Mayor Cobbe declared the meeting adjourned at 8:30 P, M, Johr~than~*~-"~ ~'~(~a.
