January 11,2005 <br />Council considered discussion of items to be considered under the Consent <br /> <br />Agenda of January 25, 2005: <br /> <br /> A. <br /> B. <br /> C. <br /> <br />Second reading of Ordinances 2004-20 relative to a Tree <br />Ordinance governing public property for the City <br />Acceptance and appropriation of monies into the General Fund for <br />the FY05 budget <br />Authorization of a refund of $46,376.80 plus any interest as <br />required by the Code of Virginia, to Commonwealth Boulevard <br />Associates, LLC, for overpayment or real estate taxes for period of <br />January 4, 2001, through June 30, 2001 <br /> <br />Council directed Administration to prepare a Resolution for its consideration <br /> <br />encouraging the City School Board to adopt similar policy regarding the Tree <br /> <br />Ordinance. The topic was placed on the next regular meeting agenda. <br /> <br />Council considered discussion of items to be considered in Closed Session of <br /> <br />January 25, 2005: <br /> A. <br /> <br /> Appointments to Boards and Commissions, as authorized by <br /> Subsection 1: <br /> 1. Community Criminal Justice Board <br /> 2. Patrick Henry Community College Board <br /> 3. West Piedmont Disability Services Board <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virqinia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br />by Council Member Ferrill, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matter: <br /> <br /> Consultation with legal counsel regarding specific legal matters requiring <br /> the provision of legal counsel, as authorized by Subsection 7. <br /> <br /> At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each returning member of Council <br />certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements <br />were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
