November 23, 2004 230 <br /> <br /> A regular, monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, was <br />held on November 23, 2004, in Council Chamber, Municipal Building, beginning at 7:30 <br />P. M., with Mayor Joe Cobbe presiding. Council Members present included: Joseph R. <br />Cobbe, Mayor; Kimble Reynolds, Jr., Vice Mayor; and Council Members James W. <br />Clark, J. Ronald Ferrill, and Terry L. Roop. <br /> <br /> Following the invocation by Council Member Clark and Pledge to the American <br />Flag, Mayor Cobbe welcomed everyone to the meeting. <br /> <br /> Council Member Ferrill moved to approve the minutes of the October 26, 2004, <br />meeting as presented; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, <br />with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Clark, Cobbe, Ferrill, Reynolds, Roop; <br />Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council considered adoption of a Resolution approving the legislative policy <br />statement for the 2005 General Assembly. Council Member Roop moved to approve <br />the following Resolution and policy statement; the motion was duly seconded and <br />carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Clark, <br />Cobbe, Ferrill, Reynolds, Roop; Nays (0) - None: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the administrative staff of the City of Martinsville has <br /> developed, with Council's guidance, a legislative policy statement for the <br /> 2005 General Assembly; now, therefore, <br /> BE I'r RESOLVED by the City Council of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular <br /> session assembled November 23, 2004, that Council hereby adopts the <br /> attached legislative policy statements recommended by its staff. <br /> <br /> 2005 Legislative Policy Statement of City Council <br /> <br /> By resolution dated November 23, 2004, Martinsville City Council adopts <br /> the following legislative policy statements to serve as a guide for local <br /> legislators and for the staff's lobbying efforts during the 2005 session of <br /> the General Assembly: <br /> <br /> <br />
